'Shreyasi' is an initiative of Delhi & Hyderabad based Kuchipudi dance Institute, NATYA TARANGINI, ESTABLISHED BY WORLD-RENOWNED DANCING DUO RAJA AND RADHA REDDY in 1976 to propagate and promote Indian classical arts, especially Kuchipudi.

Beginning in 2001, Natya Tarangini conceived and executed the 'PARAMPARA SERIES' of Music and Dance festivals, which brought young as well as reputed senior artistes in classical music and dance from all over India to the Delhi stage. Since then, ten such festivals have been held in Delhi and three in Hyderabad. It is with the aim of taking the highly successful 'Parampara' series to an international level, and to bring world-famous foreign artistes to the audiences of Delhi and Hyderabad, that this Festival of International Dance has been conceptualised.

Five international dance groups, from USA, Russia, Turkey, Spain and India, are part of the Festival.
