While it shares a similar routing with Service 965 by connecting Sengkang and Yishun, Service 85 provides higher coverage of Sengkang and Punggol towns, while service 965 offers connections from Punggol Road (Blk 298A / Blk 190C) for bus transfers, as well as a faster route to Sengkang Interchange.
