This Gudi Padwa was extra special for me! I wore a beautiful Maharashtrian saree that I borrowed from by my mom’s close friend, who always helps me drape sarees with so much love. I also upcycled one of her old kurtas into a cute lehenga in that past.

The night before Gudi Padwa, I altered the blouse to make it fit perfectly. The next morning, I headed to her house where she helped me drape the saree, styled me with her jewelry, and treated me to a delicious traditional Maharashtrian lunch - dal, bhaat, puri, shrikhand, bhaji, and paneer!

After coming home, I spontaneously filmed a full outfit video to show you the look in all its glory. And to wrap up the day, my mom and I played a fun little Guess the Marathi Word game (because I always claim my Marathi is pretty good!). I think I did okay, you tell me?
