Rubber Stamping: An Introduction For Beginners

Описание к видео Rubber Stamping: An Introduction For Beginners

I’m not a rubber stamping guru but here are some of my personal experiences, which might help you if you’re new to this new creative craft. Hopefully this sharing session will help navigate your way around the world of rubber stamping!

There are 3 forms of rubber stamps:
1.Wood mounted stamps : attached onto wooden handles or blocks. Pros - good weight, convenient to stamp, ready to go. Cons - heavy, expensive, takes up a lot of space.

2.Trimmed foam mounted stamps : rubber stamp stuck onto a cling back (used with acrylic blocks). Pros - cheaper, takes up less space, good to travel with. Cons - needs more supportive components, not ready to go.

3.Unmounted stamps : rubber sheets or silicone sheets (can be trimmed onto EZ mount and used with acrylic blocks, or used with acrylic blocks with removable adhesives). Pros - Cheapest option, space saving, good to travel with. Cons - can be messy and sticky, needs more components, not as straight forward.

Then there are different types of rubber stamp materials: Vulcanized rubber stamps (usually red) are longer lasting vs Photopolymer silicone clear stamps which tends to distort and disintegrate over time. Tho there are good quality silicone stamps - usually thicker and sturdier vs thin and flimsy.

Things to consider:
1.Stamps that are cut to shape will prevent unwanted corner marks. 2.Get stamps with foam padding on the back so that there’s a soft bounce to create clearer impressions. 3.Clean your stamps with non-alcoholic wipes after each use to keep them longer lasting.

Do share if you have any tips or experiences, so that we may all learn from one another! Happy stamping! 😊
