Winter Recital, 1998 (Warm Coffee After an Icy Parking Lot)

Описание к видео Winter Recital, 1998 (Warm Coffee After an Icy Parking Lot)

This is a jam loosely based on a funk progression and melody line that I wrote while in a heavy John Scofield phase back in high school. I was taking private lessons at the time for jazz stuff and had the chance to play a form of this tune with my teacher's band behind me at the recital. It was a cool moment as a kid, playing with professional musicians in the role of band leader and walking them through the form and stuff. Anyway, 20 plus years later, its stuck around in some form, waiting for me to fill it out and make something out of it. There are a lot of purely improvised sections here and I'm honestly intrigued by the darker turn this took near the end.

Signal chain info for the gear nerds:
Yamaha Revstar 502T neck pickup (P90) - Keeley 2 Knob Compressor - Keeley Katana (V1) - Boss BD2 (Keeley Mod) - Wampler AnalogEcho - Keeley Hydra (stereo plate reverb) - stereo into a Princeton Reissue with a 12" alnico and a "57 Tweed" 5F1 Kit. If you want microphone and further details, go to a different video where I was feeling more thorough about documenting things. Thanks!!
