5. SOUNDBITE (English) Mykola Bychok, Cardinal-Elect, the Bishop of the Eparchy of Saints Peter and Paul of Melbourne for Ukrainian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania:
"I think that there is a special sign which was made by pope to nominate me as the youngest cardinal in the world. As you know, Ukraine is fighting for three years, officially and maybe unofficially from 2014 after the occupation of Crimean Peninsula and two regions, Donetsk and Luhansk. Maybe my weak voice will help to stop this war, not only in Ukraine but as well in other countries around the world."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Mykola Bychok, Cardinal-Elect, the Bishop of the Eparchy of Saints Peter and Paul of Melbourne for Ukrainian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania:
"I will bring some experience of the eastern spirituality. As you know, there are 23 Eastern churches. And as you know, through these 21 newly appointed cardinals, there is one from the Syro-Malabar Church, which means I am not alone. We have at least two cardinals from the eastern churches. And that experience will be really helpful for pope, because as you remember, Saint John Paul II said that the church is breathing by two lungs, eastern and the western."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Rev. Timothy Peter Joseph Radcliffe, Cardinal-Elect:
“And then even before I asked, the pope said to me, you can continue just to wear the habit. And this is an old tradition, the idea that religious, when they become cardinals should get dressed in the full red outfit is very modern. In the 19th century and before, religious cardinals always wore the habit of the order. So I'm just following the old tradition."
Reporter: "So you will be wearing this tomorrow?"
Radcliffe: "Yes, with the cross"

"But I do think that when people gather in Conclave to vote for the next pope, which I hope will be a long time, they will be seeking somebody who has joy and simplicity and who's heart is open."

"The Holy Father, he expressed his desire to be buried in our basilica. And actually, I received this new directive from Holy Father already 2022. And he told me that we have to prepare the place where he can be close the Salus Populus Romani (Byzantine Icon of Virgin Mary and Child). And after he chooses the place and we proceed with the preparation. It was his will and the way we did it. And the Holy Father is very attached to the Basilica (St. Mary Major). And for that reason, he chose to be buried (there)."
