This should be done before you get in the store. Don’t be that guy sitting there looking at StockX for every item in the store. This shows the store you don’t know as much and they will be less likely to work with you on pricing. Try to be low key if you do decide to check pricing.

Have 3-5 shoes already on your mind that you plan on buying that way you know the ins and outs of that shoe and what it’s worth

Stores could work a better deal with you because it eliminates their card processing fees and you could potentially get around paying the tax.

Most the time the deals are way better on their used shoes and the store is looking to move them as fast as possible.
Sometimes stores only sell new shoes but they have used shoes in the back that aren’t “available” and they’re still trying to sell them. This is the best time to get shoes for the low that are dirty that can be cleaned up

5:45 Ask For Trades
If the store allows trades this could be chance for you to come back with sneakers you don’t want anymore and trade them up to something you currently are going after.

6:48 Look For Shoes That Are Around Retail Prices
Sometimes stores get shoes in build and get “bricks” too that they want to sell at retail or below. This is always a great way to get that same shoes you would have paid retail for, for below that original value you would have spent.
Keep in mind the stores are showing final price compared to the apps still having more fees that are tacked on

This is when a sneaker store will go out and get the shoe for you and notify you once it arrives. A lot of sneaker store owners know each other and that gives them access to more shoes than you see in the store. This could simply be them not having your size in stock or you looking for a rare or unique shoe.
Tell them your budget and be realistic and make sure you’re ready to pay when they find the shoe for you. This will build a lot of trust with the store and they’ll gladly help you complete your collection whenever you need help.
