Homemade Chilli Oil ❤️

Ingredients
• 1 cup neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
• 1 small onion, finely sliced or chopped
• 6–8 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
• 2–3 tablespoons chili flakes (adjust to your heat preference)
• 1 teaspoon of paprika powder
• ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the chili flakes base:
• Place the chili flakes and salt (if using) in a heatproof bowl.
2. Heat the aromatics:
• In a saucepan or small skillet, add the oil.
• Add onion,and garlic to the cold oil.
• Turn the heat to medium-low and slowly cook, stirring often.
• Fry until the mixture becomes golden brown and crispy, but not burnt (takes about 10–15 minutes).
3. Strain and pour:
• Turn off the heat and strain the hot oil into the bowl with chili flakes.
• Stir gently. You should hear a satisfying sizzle.
4. Optional — Add crispy bits:
• Let the onion, garlic, and cool slightly.
• If not burnt, you can add some (or all) of the crispy bits back into the oil for texture and flavor.
5. Cool and store:
• Let it cool completely.
• Transfer to a clean jar It can last 2–4 weeks.
