The Hoxton, Herengracht
A stay at The Hoxton, Herengracht feels like you’ve scored the keys to your coolest friend’s canal house. Tucked inside five joined 17th-century townhouses, it’s all original beams, retro furniture and a lobby that buzzes day to night with locals who know where the good coffee (and cocktails) are. The rooms are chic, with modern interior design and homely touches, like framed prints and a carefully selected stack of books waiting for you next to the coffee machine. Location-wise, you’re golden – you’re walking distance to all the good stuff.

The Hoxton, Lloyd
The Hoxton, Lloyd is East Amsterdam’s new favourite kid on the block. Set inside a former shipping house that’s lived many lives, this spot has kept its edge while adding just the right amount of polish. Expect huge windows, clever design and rooms that balance industrial cool with cosy comfort. The downstairs bar and restaurant, Breman Brasserie, is where you’ll want to hang out all day on their sunny terrace and tuck into European comfort food with South American flavours. It’s a little off the tourist track, but that’s the point… you’ll feel like you actually live here.
