Fátima: A very funny lady told me "Oh you're on tv. So nice. I love tv. I watch tv, tv is my whole life. I learn a lot with tv! I love watching people, it makes you feel alive and you learn new things. I don't know what I'd do without tv...". I thought it was really funny. She was like: "Yeah I learn a lot, people talk about stuff, about a lot of experiences". It was funny I was like "Yeah" [shrugs].
Patricia: Last year I was sitting at a table and a lady came by and said: "Oh! She's the one from Hospital Central! You're not worth a thing*!" I was like "Miss--" And she started yelling: "Come here, come here! She's not worth a thing! Look, she's the one from Hospital Central". And she sat down with me. "You look bigger on tv" [grabs Fátima like the lady did with her]. And I was like "Well, sorry." I mean, you have to listen to that and just stay there and shrug. "Give me a kiss. Oh my, you're not worth a thing", she insisted, and I was like "Hey, that's enough, no?".
Fan: What did she mean though?
Patricia: I guess you look prettier on tv and then they see you and, I don't know. I was there with my family, and my kid and..., having lunch and she sat down-- well it was her, her friend, her friend's daughter... Everybody, everybody. And she kept going "You're not worth a thing". I mean the woman was actually really nice but she was stuck on that.
Patricia: No, but seriously, it's what I said before. People usually, there's a bit of everything. For example, in big cities people just--, like in Madrid, I understand that everbody is rushing [does speeding motion] and it's different. Whereas if you go out for the weekend to Segovia, somewhere close, and it's a different wave, you know? People stop, and talk to you, right? [asks Fátima]
Fátima: Yeah, they do.
Patricia: ...And they tell you a lot more. And I went to Portugal, and...
Fátima: They are airing the show.
Patricia: They are airing the show, and there were a lot of portuguese fans and stuff.
Fan: Unlike here [talking about how the show isn't airing in Spain]
Patricia: Unlike here. [laughing]
Patricia: I didn't remember this, but I noticed people looked at me and I was like, uh?
Fátima: And you were like "Oh I'm so pretty today. This is nice" [joking]
Patricia: Yeah I was thinking "I'm looking good". So I went to a store and this girl came up to me "Can I have your autograph?". And I asked: "Do they air the show here?" and she said "Oh yeah, Maca and Esther, you have a lot of portuguese fans here". Really nice people.
Fátima: That's something else, the rest of the world--
Fan: Yeah, with internet... They translate the episodes into more and more languages.
by "not worth a thing" the lady wasn't insulting Patricia, she was stating that she looked bigger and more impressive on tv than in person. It's a popular phrase to express disappointment but not in a mean/insulting way.
