This is the sarangi version of Maya ta maya ho (Timro mann ma lukeko kura) and Maya Jadau covered by the famous Gandarbhas of Nepal. Both songs are very famous and much-loved songs by Nepalese people.

About Gandarbhas:
The Gandarbhas traditionally work as traveling musicians and play traditional folk and historical songs. They improvise songs too, incorporating news into them as a service, in return for which they receive donations of food or other things. They use madal and the Nepali sarangi, a type of violin, as their main musical instrument. The sarangi has been an iconic musical instrument identified with the Gandarbha people.

SARANGI:
The Nepali Sarangi is a folk Nepalese bowed string instrument. The word Sarangi is derived from 'Sau Rangi' which means 'Hundred Colored' signifying its ability to convey a wide range of moods and emotions. It is regarded as one of the true Nepalese musical instruments and the only instrument that is closest to the sound of the human voice. It is about two feet long and half a foot wide in the shape of a round box. It usually has three or four gut strings made from horsetail. It is played with a bow which is made up of strings.
