There's two types of refillable cartridge for the XP-15000 and these are due to the way the compatible chips are reset.
ARC (Auto Reset Chip): These will reset when the cartridge has read as empty and been removed/replaced after refilling.
Resettable: These are chips that require a chip resetter to reset them back to full manually.

This video covers the different types and benefits, downsides to each as well as how to reset the latter type (Resettable) that require the chip resetter.
