I recently started trying to use the JW sketch way (2staffs for wws, 2 for brass, 3 for strings, 1 for keyboard, and myself adding 1 more for harp, 1 for unpitched percussion and 1 for timpani). It’s mostly for the benefit my own studying of orchestrations, but I also hope it is more beneficial for other score learners, without becoming too hard to read.
