Four current dynamic mics tested with a baritone voice for spoken word in an untreated room, with and without foam windshields.

The recording has been subjected to a light 2:1 compression and demudded from 250Hz down at a rate of 4dB per octave.

These recordings of the spoken first verse of an old hill walker's anthem composed by Ewan MacColl were made at a distance of my fist and extended thumb/6 1/2in/16.5cm and with the mics set to the left of my mouth at about 45 degrees, which helps with both plosives and sibilants.

The differences are interesting, as always.
