Winter camping NO tent / BIG fire !

We are entering the coldest time of year here in New England! As the temperature drops most prefer to spend their time inside. Me, I get all excited about it! Time to go camping. This time I decided to give it a go without any shelter for protection. Just my sleep system. Turned out to be a fun night testing gear and capability. My sleep system is a Thermarest z lite pad, A Nemo Tensor insulated air mattress and my trusty Outdoor Vitals 0º Summit sleeping bag. Test and trust your equipment.

Testing gear and your comfort level is a good thing to do. I encourage it. However, please do not put yourself in a dangerous situation outside the range of safety. Learn your capabilities in a safe fashion. Test and develop your skills, know your capability before you put them to practice in a situation without a safety net. Enjoy
