By 1972, the Four Tops were looking to make a label change as their hit making days at Motown were firmly in the rearview mirror. They signed with ABC/Dunhill in 1972 and worked together with songwriter/producers, Brian Potter and Deniis Lambert. Their debut album on ABC/Dunhill was titled, Keeper Of The Castle, and the title track became a big hit single for the legendary group. Keeper Of The Castle, peaked at #6 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 12/30/72. It kicked off a nice four year run of hits for the Four Tops before the late 1970's disco surge depressed sales of their records for several years.
