Sources confirm Boebert met with Trump administration officials at the White House this week to discuss the matter. White House spokespeople characterized the meeting as an opportunity to demonstrate transparency, though Boebert herself stated she felt no pressure to withdraw her name. She emphasized a desire to honor President Trump's legacy of openness and indicated she received reassurances of continued transparency from the administration.

Boebert is one of four Republicans who joined the bipartisan effort, led by Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna, to compel the Justice Department to release the complete investigative records. The petition gained its critical 218th signature with the swearing-in of Arizona's first Chicana representative, Adelita Grijalva, on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, former President Trump publicly criticized Republicans supporting the petition, deeming it a Democratic ploy to distract from other issues.

Following these developments, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced his intention to bring the bill to the House floor for a vote next week.
