India has different variety of shrimp from Macrobrachiums to Paelomons to Caridinas. This video describes the following Caridina varieties and also covers their natural habitats.

1) Caridina babaulti 'Rainbow'
2) Caridina babaulti 'Green'
3) Caridina babaulti 'Malaya' White back

and definitely, Caridina gracilirostris which is more popularly known as Red Nose Pinnochio Shrimp or simply Red Nose Shrimps.

They are all very good algae eaters and very much suited for planted aquariums. Out of all these varieties, however, Red Nose Shrimp is the best algae eater, especially Hair algae. One can easily replace the popular Amano Shrimp with the Red Nose Shrimp to control algae.

Talking about Amano Shrimp, we have added a macro video shot of it from one of our tanks for our shrimp enthusiasts to enjoy.

Technical data about their shrimps and their habitat visit was kindly organized by our expert of ornamental fish and shrimps from India, Mr. Andrew Rao.
