I created this Laser Bed for cutting while still being able to use magnets, inexpensive Gusset Plates (Mending Plates) are used to create a flat surface. 3-5mm wood is often warped to some degree, I like strong magnets to take the warp out. Honeycomb laser beds are great but usually aluminum hence no magnets can be used. Let me know if you make one and how it works out.
