Mountain Guardians Was Founded By A Group Of Friends Who Share A Passion
Mountain Guardians Animal Alliance is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that aims to educate, advocate, and ultimately stop the epidemic of homeless, neglected, and abused animals in the U.S through animal rescue and eventual animal sanctuary.

As An Organization We Plan To:
Provide a no-kill sanctuary to pet’s that have suffered abuse, neglect, or mistreatment in the past and are unable to safely be rehomed but can still happily exist.

Provide temporary refuge and ultimately rehoming pets that are ready and capable of being rehomed.

Provide and marketing educational and practical resources to our communities to reduce the feral and homeless population of domesticated animals because about twice as many animals enter shelters as strays compared to the number that are relinquished by their owners.


What Happens When You Support A Sanctuary?
We aren't just a shelter, we're a sanctuary. Sanctuaries offer animals a fighting chance to live happy, healthy lives when they're unable to be housed. 14.1% of dogs are surrendered due to housing issues, the top reason for canines, while more cats are surrendered due to the owner having too many animals (22.6%) than any other reason.

Roughly 6.5 million animals enter shelters each year but only 3.2 million are adopted, and homeless animals outnumber homeless people 5 to 1. Adopted pets are often incredibly grateful and form deep bonds with their new families. Plus, adoption promotes responsible pet ownership and helps reduce the strain on overcrowded shelters, making room for more animals to find loving homes.
