Retribution reached a new level on Thursday in the Kosovar city of Pec as dozens of homes and businesses were burned to the ground.

Local Albanians have looted Serb homes in neighbourhoods under the control of the K-L-A, setting them on fire after emptying them of their contents.

The city's shrinking and embattled Serb community is isolated and located in pockets throughout Pec.

They are under the protection of K-FOR Italian troops, but signs of a Serb exodus are starting to appear.

K-FOR is taking a more active role in impeding armed activities by the K-L-A and are deploying patrols in the hope of discouraging more looting and destruction.
