Jill Reilly, the Digital Engagement Director in the Office of Innovation at NARA, will discuss the process NARA is using to begin the very large task of reparative description. She will discuss how they selected where to begin and how they engaged both stakeholders and staff.

Ashley Yandle, the Digital Services Section head for the State Archives of North Carolina, will discuss her institution’s approach to developing a Conscious Description committee and give an overview of their work to this point.

Dorothy Gidiere, Archival Collections Coordinator at the Alabama Department of Archives and History (ADAH), will discuss the conscious description program at the ADAH. She will talk about how the program started, where it stands today, and considerations for joint efforts in the state archives community.
