In this video, I’m excited to show you how I created the gravity-defying treasure chest cake for my second entry at the Royal Adelaide Show cake decorating competition this year.

I spent countless hours crafting all the intricate decorations, including the mermaid, treasure chest, corals, shells, pearls, coins, and the sea creatures.

The most challenging parts were attaching the mermaid's tail and the coins. I initially planned to use rice paper for the tail, but it didn’t turn out as expected, so I switched to fondant. For the coins, I used floral wire to create a floating effect.
