If I were God above the sky, I’d carve the words in light
Three simple vows to guide us through the silence of the night
No lies to hide the pain, no masks to wear in fear
Let truth alone illuminate the path we walk so clear

Thou shall not deceive — don’t let their eyes lose shine
Thou shall not steal — each soul has its own right
Thou shall not kill — don’t let the end begin
That’s all we need, just these three things
To live a life that’s truly free

They speak with holy names, and still, they cause the flame
But if I held the heavens high, I’d never play that game
No justice born from hate, no faith that feeds on blame
Let those who cry in silence rise, and never hang their shame

Thou shall not deceive — don’t break the bond of trust
Thou shall not steal — don’t grind dreams into dust
Thou shall not kill — don’t drown the light in rage
That’s all we need, just these three truths
To hold the dawn and shape the day

No law alone can save us
No prayer can make us whole
But maybe three commandments
Could reach the human soul
