In this episode of the Into Your Life Podcast, Lenka and Natalie sit down with Ally Wilson for an inspiring, in-depth look at the realities of living and working on a wide-beam narrowboat while cruising the UK canals. Ally shares how she and her husband, Tim, made the leap to boat life after years of renting, revealing everything from the joys of waking up to new views every week to the intricate practicalities of electricity, water, internet, and even managing life aboard with their adventurous boat kitty, Fuji.
Whether you're curious about alternative lifestyles, considering your own adventure on the water, or love stories of people finding freedom and fulfilment outside the norm, Ally’s detailed and honest account is both educational and uplifting. Practical tips abound: how to get mail and groceries, what it takes to maintain a floating home, navigating locks, and even how to stay connected for remote work.
Tune in for inspiration, practical advice, and a fresh perspective on making life your own—wherever you choose to call home.

Bio:
Ally Wilson's business is Red Rocket Studio, which I run with my husband, Tim. We have two sides to the business, which is all graphic design software training.
We live on a widebeam narrowboat, cruising the UK canals and rivers. Been doing so for 3 years.
We have a cat called Fuji (the boat cat). Named after the camera film and cameras.
As co-founder of Red Rocket Studio, I manage course bookings, tailored recommendations, and client support, making sure every learner has a smooth and supported experience, whether they’re a marketer, designer, or small business owner.
I also take care of the video course production side of the business, handling editing, uploading, platform admin, and publishing for our online training hosted on Udemy and Skillshare. Whether it’s coordinating content, writing descriptions, or troubleshooting uploads, I make sure our digital learning experience runs just as smoothly as our live training.
