Saving money by buying store brands is difficult if you are a brand snobs. We all want to know how to save money on food though right? However, it turns out that the generic brand ended up being better in some scenarios. It is interesting that just because a box looks good and there is a name brand we generally prefer it. This taste test revealed some interesting conclusions. In this video I tried Pop tarts and liked the name brand better, but that is what coupons are for! I also tried marshmallows and actually liked the store brand better. In this case to save money it is a much better idea to buy the store brand. You will get a lot more for your money if you do. To complete the food taste test I also tried Honey Nut Cheerios. The store brand ended up being better again! So, it just shows you that just because the box looks good and there is a name brand on it does not mean the product is better. So, save money and think about buying more store brands or use coupons when buying name brands!
