Stories by Lily Pad. This is the name of this wistful restaurant in Times Street, West Triangle Homes, Quezon City. Angel Tangco, one of the owners of the restaurant, tells us how they came up with this enchanting name.

Angel used to work in the corporate world and stayed there for some six years before she decided to uproot herself.


The company behind this restaurant is called Lily Pad, and this is their first business venture. Angel’s grandparents built this house and way back in the seventies, it used to be a place where family and friends gathered on occasions to celebrate and enjoy good food. Angel wanted to continue this tradition and share the good experiences she had in their ancestral home.


The old wood from the original house, all narra, was used in the walls of this restaurant. Old memorabilia like musical instruments, books, these old walkie talkies on the wall, memories of the family’s travels abroad – these are all showcased in Stories by Lily Pad.


The restaurant can accommodate fifty inside, and thirty in the garden for those who fancy al fresco dining.The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 7:00 am to 10:00 p.m.

Stories by Lily Pad has had their fair share of celebrations, from birthdays to anniversaries and even corporate events.

Note the old frames artfully mounted on the wall. Angel says these are her grandmother’s old frames that were kept well enough to be on display here without any photos.Angel knows that restaurants now are almost a dime a dozen, but she knows Stories by Lily Pad is different.
