URGENT! ARTETA NEEDS TO LISTEN TO HENRY NOW! ARSENAL RACING AGAINST TIME TO SECURE £70 MILLION STAR!
Arteta Needs to Listen to Henry Now! Arsenal Could Secure Darwin Nunez or Calvert-Lewin Before the Deadline, While Fulham Pushes to Sign Another Star for £20 Million!
Arsenal is racing against the clock if they want to add a new striker to their squad before the summer transfer window closes.
With the transfer deadline approaching at 11 p.m. on Friday, Premier League clubs are in a frantic rush to finalize their last deals.
So far, Arsenal has brought in two new faces to the first team this summer. First, Riccardo Calafiori arrived from Bologna to bolster Mikel Arteta’s defensive options.
Yesterday, Arsenal finally announced the signing of Mikel Merino, ending the long transfer saga involving the Spanish midfielder.
However, the Gunners might not be done yet. Club legend Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to sign a striker before the transfer window closes, and it’s easy to see why he made this demand.
The North London club still lacks a reliable backup for Bukayo Saka, and there’s also a strong argument that they need a clinical goal scorer to lead the line. Arsenal has been linked with several strikers throughout the summer.
Most recently, rumors have emerged linking Arsenal to a potential move for Darwin Núñez.
What Thierry Henry likes about Arsenal target Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool brought in Nunez from Benfica back in 2022, shelling out £64m to snag the striker after he had an impressive 2021/22 season, bagging 34 goals.
But since his move to England, his goal tally hasn't been as high, with 20 Premier League goals in 66 appearances for the Reds. Despite that, there's still a strong sense that the 25-year-old has much more to give.
Nunez, like most strikers, thrives on confidence. When he's on his game, he's a real handful for defenders, showing clever play in the final third that can be tough to handle.
Despite a few rough patches, the Uruguay international's smart style of play hasn't escaped notice, as Thierry Henry pointed out.
On Sky Sports Monday Night Football, during the analysis of Liverpool's narrow victory over Nottingham Forest, the former Arsenal star highlighted what makes Nunez stand out.
“First and foremost, the one thing he does ever so well is that he goes back into an onside position straight away,” Henry explained as the Liverpool ace netted a late winner at the City Ground.
“He puts his body into a position of, ‘I am going to have an opportunity to score’. Because why? Mac Allister has told you he is going to cross the ball because he looked, it’s not telepathic, he looked while he was turning.”
Henry went on to praise Nunez’s positional knowledge and movement moments before scoring the decisive goal, where he made it his clear objective to score in a crowded box.
“He is attacking the ball. He’s the only one with Van Dijk who stays there the whole time, he is the only one.”
The Uruguayan was quick to spot the movements of the Forest defenders ahead of him when Alexis MacAllister lined up the cross, a decisive observation that won his side the game.
Nunez could be what Mikel Arteta needs this summer.
When looking at Arsenal’s current number nine options, it's hard to feel optimistic about finding someone who can score regularly.
Kai Havertz has been performing well, but he’s not really the classic target man the team needs.
Similarly, Gabriel Jesus, even though he's officially a number nine, struggles with being consistent in front of goal and has fitness issues that make him unreliable.
As Thierry Henry pointed out when analyzing Nunez, the Uruguayan embodies the classic number nine role with a natural knack for getting into the right positions before chances even arise.
With the creative players that Arteta has at his disposal in North London, Nunez would definitely have plenty of opportunities to score. This makes him an attractive option for Arsenal to pursue this week.
The manager should consider Henry’s insights when deciding whether to push for Nunez before the transfer deadline. At 25, Nunez has the essential qualities that could really strengthen Arsenal’s attack.
