As the dreaded COVID-19 lockdown comes to a close, I decided to celebrate by going out and filming some trains yet again.

On this day I visited two locations that I haven't been to in a few months because of travel restrictions. One was the level crossing near Bayfair and the other was Matapihi. Then it was back to the more-familiar Cross Road at Sulphur Point, with the last two trains being filmed at the Maxwells Road bridge.

One of the highlights of this trip won't be spoiled here in the description, while the 2nd highlight should be obvious (especially when you look at the thumbnail).

Well done to all the KiwiRail staff who have worked hard to keep the trains running during the past 7 weeks! I look forward to more rail-fanning trips in the future, which will features lots more KR trains.
