A Recollection of the Night from Plácido Domingo:
In the dressing room before the concert, Danny Kaye and I agreed that I would walk in late and slowly look for my seat after the music started. He was supposed to stop conducting and tell me that I should know better than to arrive late for a concert and disturb the audience. So I did my part, but Danny forgot about and it and did not stop the music. It was quite embarrassing! When Danny finally saw me he realized he had forgotten our joke. I later thought that I should have stopped Danny and asked him for his seat.
