The bet in an apartment, however small, is to create distinct living spaces that are both functional and comfortable. After work, the place has a real kitchen with bar, a small cozy living room, a real bedroom separated by an interior glass roof as well as a bathroom with laundry room. All complemented by numerous storage spaces that optimize space. No, you're not dreaming, all this in just 18 m2! For the decoration, the interior designer Lara Grand bet on graphics and touches of green and blue in a warm and elegant atmosphere.
Standing almost in the center of the apartment, the water drainage ducts make the interior layout of the apartment more complex than expected. Before the work, the bathroom was thus right in the middle of the room, and the narrow L-shaped kitchen was located in a location that was not exactly ideal. With its large windows which provide beautiful light, the apartment nevertheless has great potential, detected by its owner and exploited by the interior designer in charge of the project. If the plan requires a bit of trouble, the layout of the spaces is finally done around the technical ducts, giving the final apartment the shape of a U. Around this U, the different spaces are distributed in a functional way, from the entrance to the bathroom, passing through the kitchen, the living room and the bedroom. Each space has been designed to offer maximum comfort to the future tenant(s), optimizing the surface area by creating tailor-made storage.
Materialized by a water green color (Green Blue n°84 - Farrow & Ball), a few hooks on the wall and a dressing room, the entrance opens directly onto a small functional kitchen. Made from Ikea boxes, it offers an immaculate whiteness, enhanced by black and gold touches - on the appliances, door handles and accessories -, and a marble imitation credenza, a material dear to the owner. Its brilliant reflections reflect the light in this open space. Wrapping around the bathroom, located just behind, the kitchen worktop ends in a bar, creating a bright dining area, sufficient for 2 to 3 people, and overlooking the living room. Above sits a wired suspension which, once lit, projects graphic shadows, thereby warming up the white of the walls.
In the extension of the kitchen, there is a small charming living room, located next to a chimney flue. Around it, Lara Grand has thus imagined exploiting the niches for two distinct spaces: on the one hand the living room and on the other hand the bedroom. On the living room side, the niche thus accommodates a made-to-measure storage bench that cleverly extends into a TV cabinet. Painted in the same color as the entrance wall, it recalls the storage units on the bedroom side. Behind the bench, a graphic wallpaper dresses the wall as if to better mark this space. A small space for maximum comfort: a baby mattress as a seat and a mix of cushions give the room a cozy atmosphere.
Separated from the bedroom by a space-saving sliding door, the bathroom, although it has kept its original location, has undergone a refresh, both in its layout and its decoration. On not-quite-white walls, metro tiling gives character to the bathroom, complemented by imitation black and white cement tile tiling on the floor. In this space cohabit both a comfortable shower, located at an angle, the toilets and even a laundry area with washing machine and dryer! These disappear behind white cupboard doors, to which the golden handles bring a touch of elegance. And to better prepare, a backlit round mirror sits above the sink and its custom-designed cabinet.
