HOW TO WASH STARTER LOCS | NO UNRAVELING WITH STOCKING CAP METHOD | BRAIDLOCS | MICROLOCS

Welcome FLocers (fellow locers and aspiring locers). In this video I demonstrate how to thoroughly wash your starter locs using a stocking cap to help prevent prevent unwanted unraveling of your starter locs. There is no need to go weeks or months without washing your locs when you are fresh into your Loc journey. That is one of the biggest misconceptions about locs is that you can’t wash your locs or that you have to wait an extended period of time before washing starter locs. I would advice you to wash gently and with caution, but there is no reason that you can’t wash your new starter locs the same day that you get them installed if that is what you loc’d heart desires.

I take you through the process that I have used several times on my different Loc journeys when I was in the beginning Loc phases in order to wash my hair whenever I wanted to. I simply cut a pair of pantyhose and wash my locs through the pantyhose. This allows you to use shampoo and or conditioner to wash and cleanse and moisturize your locs. Using the stocking cap or pantyhose allows for the water, shampoo and conditioner to penetrate down to your locs and scalp to give you a desired cleansing, but keep in mind that you won’t be able to get your locs and scalp as clean as you would if you were washing the locs freely.
