Scientists believe that Earth's magnetism arises from electricity generated by movement in Earth's core. The electric currents create a magnetic field with invisible lines of force flowing between Earth's geomagnetic
poles.

Student: The North pole and South pole?

Teacher: No!The geomagnetic poles are not same as North pole and South pole. They are the geographical poles of Earth. The north pole and south pole does not change in position. The geomagnetic poles marks the ends of axis of Earth's magnetic field. The Geomagnetic Poles change in position unlike the Geographical poles.
