IFILM SRI LANKA walks you through the splendor and the simplistic beauty of the Vesak festival celebrations and captures the dazzling "festival of lights" across Colombo and Kandy, Sri Lanka.

"Vesak" is a holy day for Buddhists world wide, especially in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and the South East Asian countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, and Indonesia which has an avid following.

Informally referred to as "Buddha's Birthday", it encompasses the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of the holy teacher Gautama Buddha.

Vesak is a celebration of Buddha's teachings and way of life to unite people from all walks of life - irrespective of gender, class, colour or race and with a view to showing the beauty of embracing a life of simplicity and cultivate inner peace and harmony.
