Paul Barroilhet (1810-1871) was a French baritone singer, created the role of Alfonso XI in Donizetti's La favorita. In the French version of Rossini's Otello, Barroilhet interpolated an extra aria "Ah! Mon coeur serait encore" in the beginning of the second act, using the music of Rodrigo di Dhu's aria from Rossini's La donna del lago (Eccomi a voi - Ma dov'è colei che accende - Se a' miei voti amor sorride but without the first section, and much less coloratura passages), transposing down a major second to suit the baritone tessitura.
