Описание к видео GoPro Hero 4: Prototype Diesel/Electric Trolley Bus - Rear View

This is GoPro Hero 4 footage of the new prototype diesel/electric trolley bus in Dayton, Ohio being field tested on Route 5 and officially debuted on September 29th, 2014. It is 40 foot long, has a low-floor, and has a Gillig body. The electrical components to make it a trolley were built and assembled by Vossloh. The rear facing camera is mounted on the pole & is aimed at what are called the "collectors, harps, or shoes" that is the contact point on the 600 volts DC wire that powers the bus. When the poles are down & not on the wire, the bus is powered by a 5.9 liter Cummins diesel engine, which is also still in it's testing phases.
