There are many ways to mix your paint for an acrylic pour. Mixing paint and water is the most expensive of these. In this video I show you how much commonly used acrylic pour paint mixes cost per ounce.

Don't get me wrong, you can get some amazing pours this way but there are other more cheaper alternatives that many new acrylic pour artist's should be using to practice with.

When I started I was looking for the cheapest acrylic pour possible. I began with craft paints and glue-all as my medium. I quickly found out that craft paints just didn't give the vibrancy of color I was looking for in a pour.

Now I only buy student level acrylics and most often I mix my paint with either floetrol or glue as my mediums. I also occasionally use a professional pouring medium like Liquitex Pouring Medium.
