Welcome to our Spotlight Sessions, a series dedicated to conversations with change-makers and people that have made an impact on the community of people with disabilities.

In this episode, we had the opportunity to speak with Justin Moore, CEO of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Justin is a physical therapist turned advocate, whose exposure to disability started at a young age because of his parents’ different professions and extended to lobbying in congress for better care. APTA seeks to advance the physical therapy profession and serve patients that could benefit from physical therapy.

Justin shared thoughts on the following topics:
1. The number of physical therapists practicing and advocating in the US.
2. The importance of power in numbers and building community to make a difference.
3. Leading by example, especially for healthcare professionals
4. The diversity of a physical therapists position to coach, train, and motivate patients
