Battling A Heat Wave On A Sheep Farm! Extreme heat and humidity have taken over Ewetopia Farms this week, bringing with them serious challenges for both sheep and shepherds. In this episode of our sheep farming vlog, we document a few sweltering days where staying cool became the top priority for everyone.

After a spring of cold temperatures and constant rain, we’re now facing the opposite extreme—a brutal heat wave sweeping across much of North America. With field work once again on hold due to extreme temperatures, pop-up storms, and thick humidity, our focus turned to basic animal care and survival strategies.

Our sheep, who once thrived in the cool spring weather, are now visibly stressed, panting, and reluctant to leave the barns. We kept keeping them hydrated a top priority by constantly checking and cleaning their water drinkers throughout the day. We also installed a fan in the main barn to improve airflow and help keep temperatures bearable.

Heat stress affects more than just people—it can be dangerous for livestock, too. Join us as we navigate this tough stretch of weather, sharing how we care for our flock during extreme conditions. We’re hoping for cooler days ahead and relief for all.
