In short, Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, or ASMR, is the name of a sensation that has been described in various ways, such as a tingling that runs down the head, back, legs, or simply a euphoric state of relaxation. This sensation can be experienced using what are called "trigger sounds". One type of trigger sound most people are familiar with is white noise, such as the sound of the ocean or a fan.
