In US news and current events today, breast cancer survivors spoke to NowThis News about 'going flat,' meaning after they received breast cancer treatment they chose to now get breast implants. Many breast cancer survivors after getting a lumpectomy or mastectomy will then get breast implants and reconstruction surgery, but some who have had breast cancer (disease or medical condition) prefer flat closure reconstruction. Those survivors might run into bias from doctors or health insurance issues over that choice. Flat Closure NOW is raising specific breast cancer awareness for these survivors who are going flat.
