Turning your shoulders on the wrong plane causes many problems in golf.
If your shoulders turn on the proper axis your head will remain steady. Dustin Johnson, Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy and Joaquín Niemann all turn their shoulders this way.
Things don't happen parallel or level in the golf swing. The shoulders turn off kilter or askew to what you'd think they should. Turning the shoulders properly allows the club to move smoothly through impact.
We have all seen the club across the shoulders demonstration and drill which is advocated by many instructors but it's not how the shoulders turn and it's just wrong!
