Friedman JEL 20 vs Marshall SV20 Plexi Shootout

Описание к видео Friedman JEL 20 vs Marshall SV20 Plexi Shootout

A/Bing my Friedman JEL 20 with a Marshall Studio Vintage Super Lead head.

The goal here was to show what the plexi channel can do both with either the pre amp gain cranked at lower volumes, or how it sounds with the master volume dimed as that is typically how to get that true plexi power amp saturation. I didn’t use the Sat switch at all in this video.

After chatting with Dave Friedman directly, he clarified that this is very much is the front end of a plexi and just like those amps you have to crank the master to get the gain the amp is known for but I find the pre amp saturation can also sound great as well.

I also compare it with my Marshall SV20 and the JCM channel on the Friedman.

Both are plugged into my UA OX Box using the same cab (Greenback 4x12) recorded directly into Logic with no processing in post.

Using my Gibson Les Paul R9 - no pedals in front.

What sounds best to you??
