PATRONAGE: Travelers/transportation (drivers, sailors, etc.), traveling (especially for long journeys), children, athletics, bachelors, surfing, storms, Brunswick, Saint Christopher's Island (Saint Kitts), Island of Rab, Vilnius, Havana, epilepsy, gardeners, toothache
ATTRIBUTES: tree, branch, as a giant or ogre, carrying the Christ child, Spear, shield, as a dog-headed man, flowering staff
Invoked against: sudden death, plague, floods, hurricanes, hail

O Saint Christopher, protector of travelers and guardian of motorists, we turn to you with trust and devotion. You carried Christ on your shoulders through tumultuous waters, guiding travelers safely to shore. Help us, we pray, in our own journeys of life, protect us from the dangers and obstacles that may come our way.

Saint Christopher, you who felt the weight of the world on your shoulders as you carried the Christ Child, help us to carry the burdens entrusted to us with courage and determination. May our faith in God give us the strength to overcome life's challenges and find peace in difficult times.

Intercede for us with God, our heavenly Father, and obtain for us the graces and blessings we need. May your loving protection surround us and guide us every day of our lives.

Saint Christopher, we thank you for your intercession and for the graces we receive through your help. Watch over us, our families and all those dear to us, and keep us safe under your holy protection. Amen.

“Life” Prayer
Father, grant that I may be a bearer of Christ Jesus, Your Son. Allow me to warm the often cold, impersonal scene of modern life with Your burning love. Strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit to carry out my mission of changing the world or some definite part of it for the better.

Despite my lamentable failures, bring home to me that my advantages are Your blessings to be shared with others. Make me more energetic in setting right what I find wrong with the world instead of complaining about it. Nourish in me a practical desire to build up rather than tear down, to reconcile instead of polarize, to go out on a limb rather than crave security. Never let me forget that it is far better to light one candle than to curse the darkness, and to join my light, one day, with Yours. Amen.

Prayer for Strength
Dear Lord, We appeal to you for strength. Help us choose the vocation set for us. Help us take up our daily burden, as St. Christopher did. Help us navigate the hazards of this life. Help us manage the burdens upon our backs. See us safely to the other side, where we shall receive our promised reward. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

“Motorist’s” Prayer
Grant me, O Lord, a steady hand and watchful eye, that no one shall be hurt as I pass by. You gave life, I pray no act of mine may take away or mar that gift of Thine.

Shelter those, dear Lord, who bear my company from the evils of fire and all calamity. Teach me to use my car for others need; nor miss through love of undue speed.

The beauty of the world; that thus I may with joy and courtesy go on my way. St. Christopher, holy patron of travelers, protect me and lead me safely to my destiny. Amen.

“Travelers” Prayer
O Saint Christopher, hear our prayer, keep me in your loving care. Whatever the perils of the way, let me not add to them this day. So to our caution and attention, we add a prayer for your protection, and beg God’s blessing on this journey, that we may travel safely near and far. Amen.

“Protection” Prayer
Dear Saint Christopher, protect me today in all my travels along the road’s way. Give your warning sign if danger is near so that I may stop while the path is clear. Be at my window and direct me through when the vision blurs from out of the blue. Carry me safely to my destined place, like you carried Christ in your close embrace. Amen.
