Ruth Whitney is a singer who likes to be around stage people. Her doctor husband thinks entertainers are a lower class of people and refuses to let his wife associate with them. She hosts a party for a group of entertainer friends one evening when her husband is scheduled to be out of town. Dr. Whitney comes home unexpectedly and throws the group out. Ruth decides to leave with them and pursues a successful singing career.
