Digital Settler Colonialism & The Insidiousness of Community Guidelines with Omar Zahzah

Описание к видео Digital Settler Colonialism & The Insidiousness of Community Guidelines with Omar Zahzah

On this episode of the Project Censored Show, Mickey sits down with Omar Zahzah, a Lebanese/Palestinian organizer, writer, poet, freelance journalist and assistant professor of Arab/Muslim ethnicities and diaspora studies at San Francisco State University. Omar discusses his forthcoming book from the Censored and Seven Stories presses titled Terms of Servitude: Zionism, Silicon Valley and Digital Settler Colonialism in the Palestinian Liberation Struggle. He also discusses the recent pattern of censoring pro-Palestinian voices and posts on social media outlets, sometimes nefariously done through changes to so-called community guidelines that do nothing to actually protect marginales and oppressed peoples but rather serve to reinforce the racist and oppressive standards that exist in the real world.

Note: There is a brief edit made at 17:12 to accommodate for a radio break in the program.
