[Synopsis]

In this video, I test the Galphi Q2 car dash camera recording at 1080p. It is capable of recording at 4k, 2k, and 1080p. It was relatively a inexpensive car dash camera, and it works good.

The file format that it uses is .ts files, so you will need to get a encorder to view the files on a Windows based computer. It records videos in small video clips, it does this because the camera automatically records when it is powered on. There is no need to press the record button to start recording, it does that automatically when your car starts. When your car stops, it stops recording. There is no internal battery in this dash camera, so it is entirely dependent on your 12 Volt cigarette connector.

Installation was a breeze, it took me about 15 minutes to setup the camera with my smartphone, get the mount on my windows, do the wiring, and have it working.

Before this, I was using a old digital camcorder as a car dash camera with a mount on the dashboard of my car. I had to press the record button to start recording, and sometimes I would forget to turn the camera on and press the record button. Other times, I would forget to press the record button to stop recording. When I did that, the SD card would be full, and I couldn't record. It would run out of battery power, and it couldn't record. This is a better solution to that. I was using a digital camcorder as a car dash camera for about 9 years. Now, the camera records in a loop, and I don't have to think about it.
