Today we are creating a soap for Remembrance Sunday as a small token of respect and remembrance to all those who serve and have served in the armed forces.

The Poppy flower is the symbol of Remembrance Sunday here in the UK and so we are trying to create a soap design with Poppy flowers running through it. We will be using natural, plant derived colourants and clays in today's soap, specifically Madder powder, Moroccan red clay, Spirulina powder and French green clay.

We will then be using the hanger swirl technique to create a Poppy design that will hopefully run through the centre of the soap.

We will be gelling our soap to enhance the natural colourants and hopefully make them stick in the soap.

Our soaps are all palm oil free and this one is vegan friendly too.

The total ingredients we used for this soap are as follows:


Water 220g
Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) 109g
Olive Oil 340g
Coconut Oil 184g
Shea Butter 75g
Cocoa Butter 38g
Castor Oil 57g
Sweet Almond Oil 99g
Madder Powder 2g
Moroccan Red Clay 1g
Spirulina Powder 2g
French Green Clay 1g
