Chip Seal over Full Depth Reclamation of Road Subbase

Описание к видео Chip Seal over Full Depth Reclamation of Road Subbase

Following full depth reclamation of the distressed road subbase, Cecil County (Maryland) Roads Division surfaced Carpenters Point Road with a double shot of chip seal as a pavement preservation method to extend the roadway's useful life.

This footage shows the chip seal process, including the test strips to test the "recipe". Two layers ("shots") of chip seal were applied to the soil-cement treated subbase. The emulsion was CRS-2L (a latex modified, cationic rapid setting emulsion), applied at 0.35 gal/SY. The test strip revealed that the #8 washed stone application of 13 #/SY was too heavy and subsequent treatment was backed off to 11 #/SY.
