Chris Kluwe, a former American football player turned equality advocate, talked about empathy, augmented reality, nuclear explosions, and high-school bullies. The "most peculiar and unexpected" of the people you meet at TED, was how Gaiman described him.

Kluwe was followed by Del Harvey, Twitter's "head of safety", who explained that it was largely her job to save us from ourselves.

Amanda Palmer gathered some of the best and brightest from TEDTalk 2014 for an impromptu renegade show at the Vogue Theater in Vancouver, with all proceeds going to the Vancouver Food Bank. March 19th, 2014.

Neil Gaiman was charming, Imogen Heap was dazzling, astronaut Chris Hadfield played David Bowie and had everyone chant the count down, Geoff Berner had the entire room shouting "Fuck the police!", Jason Webley rallied us around giraffes, and the TED Fellow musicians Bora Yoon and Usman Riaz were breathtaking. I've never experienced anything like them. The music was so beautiful that it was a nearly spiritual experience. And the speakers! Power poses from Amy Cuddy, empathy through technology with Chris Kluwe! Every single last minute was drenched in magic.
